What We Do
-Liberia

The baseline survey in Liberia, unlike the other countries, was a joint venture between the Federation of Liberian Youth and the YMCA. The following was noted:

• Policy spaces have been made available to the young people, but the challenge of policy implementation persists;
• The young woman is less empowered than the male;
• The administrators of justice at national level are generally unavailable for influence by young people. This is largely because of the polarity between the executive and parliament which is controlled by former warlords; and
• Youth involvement in municipal governance structures was recorded as high.
