The Africa Alliance turns 40 on 28 May 2017! Celebrations are definitely in order. We begin our birthday celebrations with special thanksgiving services across the African YMCAs. These will commence on Sunday 28 May. As the YMCA, we are mindful of this milestone and deeply grateful to God for blessing and keeping us in this journey of empowering young people through His loving grace, mercy and protection. As a movement, we seek the blessing of our Lord and Saviour over our youth and our work for the next 40 years.
We are who we are because of the strength of unity which exists with our African YMCAs. Our valued Partners, our Staff and Volunteers and wider YMCA family. Our pillars of past leaders who established the foundations that form the core of our framework. Our stakeholders who look to us with confidence and support. We are humbly thankful and appreciative recalling the many past and present who have in many various ways, contributed to the achievement and sustainability of this milestone.
We therefore invite and encourage the support of our African YMCAs, wider YMCA family, Partners, Volunteers, Youth and Stakeholders to share in our celebrations with thanksgiving, shared birthday messages and stakeholder engagement activities.
The broad theme” African unity: 40 years of youth empowerment through African YMCAs unity” captures who we are as a YMCA movement. It is bearing this in mind that we celebrate and commemorate this our birthday in a special way.
So come and celebrate with us!
We look forward to celebrating 40 years of youth empowerment through African YMCAs unity with you!!
